We should plan ahead and work towrads making it easier to build a range of housing options that meet the needs of residents, from young families and first-time buyers to seniors looking to downsize. By investing in housing today, we can make sure Castlegar remains an affordable, welcoming, and vibrant community for generations to come.

We can make Castlegar a place where renters can build stable lives and families can plan for the future. By encouraging new multi-unit developments to include more affordable rental homes and extending property-tax incentives for housing, we can help create more rental options while encouraging investment in the homes our community needs.
Incentivized Development
Castlegar has an opportunity to encourage the housing investment we need for the future. By working towards faster approvals and reducing development costs for non-profit and market housing providers, we can help good projects get built sooner, expand our housing supply, and create more affordable places for people to call home.
More Density Grants
Residents should have the opportunity to be part of the solution to Castlegar's housing needs. By providing grants to help homeowners create secondary suites and laneway homes, we can make it easier to add housing, support homeowners, and increase density in a way that fits our existing neighbourhoods.
Modernizing Our City
I want to see a city that is connected, active, and ready to grow while continuing to invest in the places that bring our community together.

If elected, I'll encourage the expansion of the Castlegar Community Complex. Since the demolition of the Pioneer Arena, our community has gone too long with only one ice surface. Completing this project would give our residents more opportunities to participate in recreation, support local sports and community groups, and strengthen an important gathering place for the city.

I also want to look for new ways to better connect important parts of our city. I'd like the city to consider a walking bridge between Selkirk College and downtown that has the potential to create an important link for pedestrians and cyclists, making it easier for students, residents, and visitors to move between the two areas. By improving that connection, we can encourage more foot traffic downtown, support local businesses, and make Castlegar a more walkable and connected community.
